Crispy Arrowhead.

Rupanya macam kerepek ubi kayu kan? Tapi arrowhead ni lagi sedap sebab lagi lembut&lemak.

Masih lagi berkait dengan makanan cina. Tiba2 mood CNY plak. Actually kebetulan je. Masa nak beli water chestnut utk bt dimsum tu mummy terpandang ubi cina 'ARROW HEAD' ni. Trus jatuh cinta utk berkenalan dgn mereka. Hahaha!!! mcm gatai je bunyi ayat ni.

Dah lama kenal dgn ubi ni psl bila blogwalking ke fotopages k.madiha ada ternampak resepi ni. Tapi masa tu dah lama, sebelum mummy involved dgn blogging lagi pun. So, bila terpandang ubi arrowhead ni trus teringat nak try. Budak2 3A tu mmg suka kalau makan junkfood especially keropok/chips & daddy plak mmg pantang btul kalau nampak mummy beli byk2 utk dorg. Masalahnya, bila boring mula la mulut dorg tu nak mengunyah. Stock keropok ikan tamban yg mummy bwk aritu pun dah tinggal 2/3 dr stok padahal baru sebulan. Itu yg mmg mummy berminat sgt nak bt kerepek ni. Ikutkan resepi k.madiha tu senang je.

Ohw!! lupa nak bgt. Nama lain yg mummy perasan ubi ni juga dikenali sebagai 'Chinese Caladium' & ' Chinese Cugi'.....But i still wondering, what other recipes people do using this arrowhead. For the time being, just use this arrowhead for this crispy chips. Here the simple methods. Btw for the recipe i follow this blog. Thanks both to K.Rose & K.Madiha.

Bahan-bahan ( 1kg = 1 bekas besar )
  • 1 kg Ubi Arrowhead
  • Garam / Whitepepper / Blackpepper (sebagai perasa jika suka)

Cara-cara

  1. Bersihkan ubi arrowhead dengan membuang kulit ari nya sahaja. Basuh dan toskan.
Saya suka makan kosong aje. Rasanya ranggup dan lemak.

ACAR REBUNG

Cerita pasal rebung....huhu, mommy tak ingat bila masanya yg mommy suka makan rebung ni. Kalau ikutkan dulu masa @universiti tak suka rebung ni sebab baunya busuk. Bila time nak beli nasi bungkus, makcik kafe @kampus dulu selalu masak gulai lemak rebung (masakan Perok). Baunya mmg kurang menyenangkan tapi bila ada kawan2 yg makan cakap sedap. Keinginan nak cuba pun timbul. Bila try masuk mulut rupa2nya not bad rasanya, cuma still macam tak berapa minat gak masak rebung ni.BUSUK!!!

Nak dijadikan cerita, tak ingat di mana & ketikanya, mommy ada termakan org masak acar rebung masa kenduri kawin. Phew!!! terus jatuh hati kat si rebung yg selama ni tak suka. Hehe!!!Yang acar rebung dorg masak kat kenduri tu rupanya sedap & tak berbau sebab dorg pakai rebung 'fresh' bukan yg jeruk mcm makcik kafe masak dulu @kampus....Baru le tau cerita si rebung, satu berbau busuk & satu tak berbau busuk.

Pastu, masa dah beranak 3 dah pun, mommy ada makan @rumah kenalan org utara (mai tang Aloq Setaq). Dia baru bwk balik acar rebung yg mak dia dr Alor Setar masak.Emmph!!! memang terangkat, makan dengan nasi panas & ikan goreng je pun. Sedap sungguh, masam, pedas&manis semua terasa.

Nostalgia plak cerita harini, ok berbalik ke tahun 2012.Hari rabu lepas mommy g pasar & beli ikan & sayur pastu ternampak si rebung fresh. Belum dihiris2 lagi tau (terlupa ambil gambar). 1st time tgk rupa sebenar si rebung. macam tanduk kerbau pun ada gak. Kik3x.....jakun btul la.

Mommy beli ke? Tak beli pun sebab xtau nak masak apa....Yang kelakarnya malam tu nak tidur terbayang2 plak si rebung masak acar mcm mak member tu bt dulu. Terasa2 masam manisnya...

Apalagi balik trus proses & mencari resepi mcm nak buat acar rebung versi utara ni. Masa google tu byk come across resepi acar rebung versi Sarawak (macam sedap jugak) tapi dek kerana dah terbayang/mengidam yg versi utara punya last2 dapat resepinya. Sempoi je pun resepinya tapi fuhh sedap.

So, if u al ada terjumpa rebung fresh blh le cuba acar ni. Senang&sedap. Buat byk2 simpan dlm peti ais lama2 pun xpe.
Acar rebung (Sumber Facebook)

Bahan2:
1)Rebung (Yang fresh lagi sedap)
2)Bawang putih
3)Cili kering
4)Halia
5)Garam
6)Cuka makan
7)Gula
8)Bijan

Cara membuat:
1)Didihkan air & campurkan satu sudu teh garam. Apabila air mendidih masukkan rebung yang telah dihiris nipis2 tadi.
2)Celurkan rebung sehingga lembut & toskan airnya.
3)Kisar cili kering, halia dan bawang putih sehingga lumat.
4)Tumiskan bahan kisar sehingga garing.
5)Masukkan rebung, garam ,gula dan sedikit air.
6)Jgn lupa masukkan cuka. Jangan letak terlalu banyak cuka kerana rebung mengeluarkan rasa masam semulajadi.
7)Masak seketika & apabila siap blh la dihidangkan dengan taburan bijan yg telah disangai.

DURIAN BRUNEI.....

Pheh!!!entry kali ni special sbb korang xleh nak try resepinya.Heheh!! tgk jela ye utk org luar dr Borneo. Memang pengalaman yg seronok bila 1st time merasa makan durian Brunei ni. Dah le masa beli dah terkejut dengan regenye. Mahai le utk size buah yg ketot2 je (sebesar kepala baby je rasanya). Mommy beli 4 biji durian kuning + 5 biji durian otak ngalah total BND40 (convert duit Msia dlm RM98).....klu @Msia org beli Musang King logik kot spend byk ni sbb besar & buahnya mmg tebal&lemak. Ini yg rasa mahal sbb kecik&isinya nipis. Kalau @Msia, durian ketot2 ni dorg longgok murah jekan? Terbalik kot dah kat sini, sbb yg isi putih biasa tu besar2 tapi lebih murah.

4biji durian kuning =BND15, 5biji durian otak ngalah =BND25

Heheh!!! rasanya bukan mcm durian kita @semenanjung tapi rasa mcm buah cempedak..."Ku sangka cempedak menjadi nangka, rupa2nya cempedak menjadi durian"......Ini le dia.
Yang peliknya, buah durian tapi rasa mcm cempedak.

Arfa & mommy mcm okey je dgn rasa cempedak/durian ni tapi daddy yg mmg 'hantu durian' xngam dgn si ketot ni sbb dia ckp "emph! xpuas makan, isi nipis sgt"...hehe, mmg ye pun isinya nipis. Tapi bila mommy refer org local @sini dorg bgt xsemua mcm tu. Ada yg isinya lunak (tebal&sedap). Mgk org yg jual tu buyut (tipu) kata guru besar sek yg mommy tanya psl local fruit dorg ni.

Durian kuning/durian bunga simpur
Sejenis lagi yang special iaitu durian kuning/durian bunga simpur (sbb color dia mcm bunga simpur, i have no idea what is 'bunga simpur'). Jenis yg kuning ni kami beli dapat yg isi tebal skit&rasanya lagi lemak. Sedap le jugak & xde rasa mcm cempedak. Btw lupa nak mention kat u al, durian Brunei ni mommy tgk durinya huyoo, pjg2 btul. Tapi walau pun pjg tapi masa nak kopek senang je terbukak....Menurut local, durian Brunei ni especially durian otak ngalah sgt special among Bruneian sbb very the wanted, bukan setiap tahun dia berbuah so everybody looking for this species. Kiranya tahun ni byk buah2 local yg berbuah dengan byknya...Ada lagi beberapa jenis local fruit yg mmg xde @Msia especially @semenanjung tapi mommy akan jot down dlm next entry..This entry special focus to this durian Brunei...Tq

Lawatan singkat hampir ke seluruh dunia...Taman Tamadun Islam.

Harini baru le berpeluang nak jot down (baru dpt momentum) pasal percutian kami 4A+R ke destinasi2 menarik hampir ke seluruh pelusuk dunia hanya dalam masa yg singkat. Hehe, baca tajuk macam gempak je kan bercuti ke seluruh dunia.....Hehe xde la kami g oversea cuti baru2 ni cuma mmg spend sebulan solid @Malaysia tercinta je. Mula2 sampai KLIA trus ambil flight lagi ke Penang. Spend seminggu @Kulim pastu bergerak ke Besut plak. Kat sana kami spend 5hari je sbb nak kejar appointment Arfa utk 'berkhatan'. Kebetulan mok&c.ngah sekeluarga pun nak join sekali g KL. Kami bergerak ke KL pada 17/12/2011. Pagi 18/12/2011 Arfa kena 'potong'...4,5 hari mommy xbergerak kemana menjaga dia yg tergantung kain. After seminggu baru le dpt kami bersiar2 @KL before fly back to Brunei.

Emmph!!! ni mommy nak citer le lawatan singkat kami 'ke seluruh pelusuk dunia' tu. Sebenarnya kami pergi ke Taman Tamadun Islam & Masjid Kristal @Kuala Terengganu. Yg kelakarnya, sejak azali mommy ni org Ganu Kite & tiap2 tahun jugak balik Ganu tapi tahun lepas semenjak jadi org Brunei baru sampai kami ke situ. Tak sangka best gak tempat tu, mmg menarik & bertaraf international le. Biasala kita ni, bila depan mata kita rasa xde 'class' tapi bila dah berjauhan baru terasa bangga dgn apa yg kita ada @Malaysia. Hopefully in the future dorg blh upgrade & ada penambahbaikan di situ.

So, xyah le citer panjang lebar lagi. Kita layan je gambar2 yg di snap oleh daddy ni kenangan2 semasa kami ke sana. U al yg @Malaysia yg blm pernah pergi arrange le pergi seisi keluarga. Mmg menarik especially for kids educational holiday. 4A+R really enjoyed our quality time there & the kids especially Arfa keen to know further about the monuments.

1st of all, let me give brief info about this TTI. TTI monument Park provides its visitors with a unique experience. Featuring 22 great Islamic Monuments that reminisce the rise of Islam into a sophisticated global religion.

We start our trip with this National Mosque, Malaysia.

Second, we arrived @ Kudus Minar, Central Java, Indonesia

After a distance, we reached Pattani Central Mosque in Thailand.

The kids felt tired, so they resting @Sultan Mosque in Singapore before we moved to other destinations.

After a long journey, we finally arrived @Taj Mahal in Agra, India.

Taj Mahal....Wow!! it's a very wonderful symbol of eternal love.

Next, arrived @Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan. This is once, at that time the largest mosque in the world with capacity of 65,000 muslims.

Pictures below are special...

This is Kubbah As Sakhrah, Baitul Muqqaddis, Palestin. Built in 692 C.E under the patronage of the Umayyad Caliph Abdul Al Malik ibn Marwan. It enshrines the 'Sacred Rock' and commemorates the Prophet Muhammad's Ascension to the heavens to visit ALLAH.

Salah satu pintu masuk ke dalam Kubbah As Sakhrah. Sizenya kecil anggaran 1m tinggi berbanding yg asli di Palestin.

Mommy & kids posed in front of 'Sacred Rock' replica (batu terapung dr Gunung Moriah yg dikaitkan dgn peristiwa Israk & Mikraj).

Inside view of Kubbah As Sakhrah. (mmg cantik & real walau sizenya kecil).

Look like real kan? padahal tiang marmar & dinding serta ukiran hanyalah lukisan.

Oh Yeah!!! I on top of the Great Mosque of Samarra, Iraq.

This is monument of Sheikh Lutfallah Mosque, Iran.

4 giants waiting to enter the royal mosque. Heheh!!!

It was built in the 17th century by Sheikh Lutfallah Maisi Al Amili, a distinguished scholar and teacher.

Arfa, Anis, Ahdia & cousin Alya @ the Abu Nasr Parsa, Afghanistan. This is actually 'makam' & built in the 17th century. The shrine in this octagonal structure is dedicated to an eminent theologian, Khwaja Abu Nasr Parsa.

Now we conquered Aleppo Citadel Syria!!!!!

Estimated to have been built during 10th century BC, it became a citadel. Salladin's son, Ghazi used it both as a residence and fortress.

Ahdia climbed up the hill.

One of the unique view of Aleppo Citadel.

Giant Ahdia step on the fortress.

Now we are at the most beautiful mosque & special place in the earth.

Al-Haram Mosque, Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

This mosque houses the holiest place in the world for all muslim, KA'BAH.

Arfa kept telling mommy he also want to go there. The question "Why mommy went there & not bring him along?". Insyaallah Arfa, semoga ALLAH perkenankan doa Arfa, amin.

Ahdia lentuk @monument of Mohamed Ali, Egypt.

@Suleyman Mosque, Turkey.

Model posed in front of the main entrance of Suleyman Mosque, Turkey.

@Al Jazari street.

Windmill @Al Jazari street. Very nice view here.

Arfa escorted his sis & cousin with gun in hand. Haiyaa!!manyak ganazz ini macam loo.

Monument of Masjid Nabawi, Madinah.

Tekun mencari 'Makam Nabi'.

Walau tak sehebat & se gah Masjid Nabawi sebenar di Madinah, sekurang2nya ia mengubat rindu mrk yg dah sampai & juga melambai2 minat mrk yg blm smp.

Arfa @The Great Mosque of Qairawan, Tunisia

This is The Palace of Al Hambra, Granada. Spain. Huish!!! tgk siapa sangka kami dah sampai Spain anak beranak.Heheh!!

Some of the arts shown on the walls.

@ Great mosque of Agadez, Niger.

This mosque was built in the 16th century when the city was at its height. This mosque is made of dried earth and is topped by pyramid shaped minaret spiked with 13 rows of stakes to strengthen the structure.

This is not mosque but Kalyan Minaret in Uzbekistan. It made of baked bricks, is flawless example of both civil engineering & superior architectural creation.

This beautiful mosque is Kul Sharif Mosque in Kazan, Rusia.

Now we return back to Asia & dropby @Xian Mosque in China.

Atlast, we reached our destination to Brunei Darussalam.
So guy, this is a famous mosque in Brunei. The tourist love to go there & snap photo.
Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan.Built in 1958 and named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei.

Alhamdulilah, we managed to visit the entire monument park @ Taman Tamadun Islam, Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. We did go to another famous mosque in KT itself, Masjid Kristal but i think i better jot it down in my next entry. Hope u guys enjoyed the journey with us.Tq
